Northeast Document Conservation Center - Free Resources
The NEDCC is the first independent conservation laboratory in the nation to specialize exclusively in treating collections made of paper or parchment, such as works of art, photographs, books, documents, maps, and manuscripts. The Center offers conservation treatment, digital imaging, and audio preservation services, as well as preservation training, assessments and consultations, and disaster advice on collections. The Center offers many free resources and services that help support the preservation efforts of cultural heritage institutions as well as private and family collectors.

Northeast Document Conservation Center - Preservation Leaflets
NEDCC’s publications are internationally recognized as a valuable source of information. The publications assist institutions in planning for the preservation of their collections by providing the building blocks necessary to develop and preservation plans for library and archival materials, training for collections care and maintenance, and guidance for creating and managing digital assets. Preservation Leaflets are updated on a rolling basis and may be downloaded at no cost. The leaflets have information on a wide variety of preservation topics and include links to additional resources. In addition, the NEDCC provides numerous publications concerning a wide variety of preservation concerns.

National Archives - Preservation
The National Archives provides expert, yet practical advice on preserving a variety of materials, photographs, negatives, and film, paper and parchment, books and scrapbooks, digital and electronic media and audio and video tapes and motion pictures. You can submit general questions on preventive care.
